Where Did You Hide The Remote Control

11 Feb

the moment we start accepting
that there is no one else to blame
that we are the ones who are responsible
that’s when things will begin to change

to say that it’s not up to us
is to relinquish our authority
when all along we can decide
how our lives are going to be

playing the “i’m a victim” role too often
is just like explaining why we didn’t keep our word
whether our excuse is true or not
it still sounds lame and absurd

sooner or later
we’ll get tired of this
we’ll come around and tell ourselves
“oh, how much i have missed”

“i could have, i should have,
if i can only turn back time”
let’s not worry, for I’ve been told
starting late is not a crime
